One day, the life of the inhabitants of Pirčiupiai, who are engaged in their daily worries, is disturbed by the German tanks that entered the village. In the film, the chronicle of one of the days of June 1944 accompanying this event is "documented" from the perspectives of different characters. The memories of the population are intertwined with future plans, but their good moods and household problems are gradually overshadowed by the disorder, and then a bad sense of the future begins to seep into their midst. The psychologized cross-section of the group's "little story" becomes a universal story of a nation facing a tragedy ahead.
