The title of the film is a reference to the seemingly unquestionable rule that motherhood is the most beautiful thing in a woman's life. This is exactly what Katrinė's family thinks. But what if she looks different? She doesn’t feel any connection to the baby, she has pain all over her body and overall she feels pretty weird. As soon as her boyfriend Andreas leaves home, the girl feels as if in prison, it is difficult for her to stay home and just take care of the child. At the same time, this is a chance to reconnect with her mother, which she has not seen in many years. Katrinė hopes that her mother will help her cope with the tasks of a young mother, but it turns out that it will be very difficult for both of them.
“I thought a lot about why I didn’t have kids. I’m 36, and I didn’t want them that way. Then I realized that I was just brutally afraid that I would give birth to a child and not love him. Why are we afraid we won’t be able to love? I started analyzing it. I realized that this is the simplest fear of doing something not so, not like everyone else, the fear of not fulfilling the expectations that are expected of you as a mother. That's how the idea to make a film about the fear of having a child was born, "said Heidi Maria Faisst.
