Marius, chief physician at a hospital in a small Romanian town, is raising his teenage son alone following his wife’s death. Unbeknownst to him, the boy slips out at night to join a gang of masked youths who vandalise cars and terrorise the local Roma community. When the police name his son as a murder suspect, Marius’s carefully ordered world begins to unravel. Through this father’s crisis, Romanian director Florin Șerban explores the fault line between generations, guided by Hannah Arendt’s observation: “The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.” The film was selected for the International Competition at the Locarno Film Festival.
