In Vilnius, painter Petras Minkus struggles to get by with odd jobs. One day, a phone rings in the noisy corridor of his communal apartment: it is a call from a childhood friend (and from those times, their secret password – “Sadūto tūto”). Povilas Baibokas, who has received a large commission at a sanatorium, invites Petras to work with him. At first, everything in the land of breathtaking lakes seems idyllic: the ancient forest, a manor being renovated into a sanatorium, colleagues’ conversations about art. Yet behind the facade, a dramatic life stirs beneath the surface.
