Crossing Europe

The Eclipse

1 hr. 28 min. | Drama, Horror, Romance | N/A

Nestled between lush hills and rocky shores, the Irish town of Kove hosts an annual literary festival. Widow Michael, though having a hard time getting used to the role of a single father, is volunteering at the festival. Taking care of the arriving guests, the man meets the author of the mystical novels Lena. Michael feels attracted to writers, but Lena’s heart longs for the famous writer Nicholas, who came to a small Irish town just because of her.

“Anyway, I don’t really like stories about ghosts or houses where people play and people try to figure out why it’s all happening. It’s very boring and nothing mystical. We don’t know if the ghosts seen by the film’s protagonist are some sort of warning, or just a manifestation of everything he doesn’t reconcile with. Or when he sees his wife’s ghost - does it come from his imagination or from somewhere else? You want these questions to go unanswered. And it allows viewers to be attached to the story for a longer period of time, ”says film director Conor McPherson.
