After a brutal attack, Marike decides to leave Amsterdam and returns to her native village. As if to start all over again, the woman hopes to be able to forget the horrific experience. Coldness and loneliness bind Marika with ever stronger shackles of fear, and the desire for revenge overcomes the desire for peace. But soon she becomes more and more courageous to communicate with a sympathetic neighbor and, it seems, her heart begins to value again and is able to accept love and affection. Unfortunately, the echo of past events is too strong for Marik to forget the cruel and stabbing pain.

"All my films are based on a similar idea - a huge difference between what you know and what you feel, how we remember something. Consciousness and subconscious, reality and everyday autopilot, interpretation and facts. I find this process extremely interesting, that strange logic of the subconscious, ”said director Esther Rots.
