Modern Slavery

1 hr. 55 min. | Documentary | N/A

The film tells the story of people living in modern slavery in Uganda, India, Moldova, Cambodia and France. At the same time, the negative consequences of neoliberal economic policies are analyzed. Certain economic and social forces seem to be trying to preserve modern slavery and are backed by corrupt governments and multinationals.

"Most people associate slavery with the transatlantic slave trade during the colonial period. At the time, slavery was based on racism, claiming that one race is inferior to another. Now slavery is based on economics. There are people who can work for free, just behind the roof over their heads, when pay is just a chance not to starve, ”said Thomas Robsahm.
