Dear Prudence

The mother of seventeen-year-old Prudence dies unexpectedly. She remains alone. Soon the girl meets the rebel Merilin. She leads Prudence into illegal scooter racing, introduces the guys. Apparently, forgetting the loss, Prudence empathizes with the rhythm of a new life, as if exchanging loneliness for freedom.

“Mourning and adolescence are just frames of history, it’s not the theme of the film. This film begs the question, how do other people affect our emotions? As soon as her mother dies, the main character Prudences is not overwhelmed with any emotion. I wanted to show how she was starting to feel something little by little. We watch her from the moment her mother dies until she feels the emotional burden of those events, ”says Rebecca Zlotowski, the film's director.
