Eighteen-year-old Hans Christian Andersen considers himself a genius. His school principal, Mr. Meisling, has a different view of the future creator of world-famous fairy tales. This conflict between the student and the teacher determined the whole further life of Hans Christian Andersen and became the plot of a film about him. This film commemorated the 200th anniversary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen.
