1944s. The Finnish-Russian war is coming to an end. Martha is pregnant, her fiancée Arne is on the front. She lives on the husband’s family farm along with war widow Helmi and young mother Hika. But the women must leave the farm and flee to the west - the Russian army is approaching. While traveling, they cross Vyborg, where Arne's company is established. There is a dramatic battle here ...

This story was filmed where it actually took place - in Vyborg. For quite some time it was a hard thing to imagine.
