Paul has schizophrenia. Thrown out of the social context, he sinks into a deep crisis of personality. But occasionally, Paul and his three friends in the clinic manage to bridge personal gaps with humor. One of the friends, Oli Beatles, is sacredly convinced that he wrote all the Beatles songs and telepathically sent them to the performers. Another buddy, Victor, sometimes lightly reincarnates into Adolf Hitler. Another friend of Paul’s room, Peter, lost his head when he was drugged and is dreaming that he has written a doctoral dissertation on Schiller at a Chinese university. Every buddy has their own idea fix, which they profess and defend ...

The film was awarded the Best Film in Iceland in 2000, won prizes for best directing and roles (Ingvar Sigurdsson, Björn Jörundur Fridbjörnsson, Margrét Helga Jóhannsdóttir) and the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2000 Karlovy Vary Film Festival. The film was a huge success: a quarter of Iceland’s population flooded cinemas to watch it.
