Margot is a medical intern in a ruthless and fiercely competitive hospital department, struggling to cope with the relentless pressure. A growing number of patients are admitted with strange symptoms: they sweat blood, while gaping wounds open across their bodies. The disease appears to strike young people on low incomes hardest - precisely those who can least afford to fall ill. When Margot begins experiencing the same symptoms and her tyrannical supervisor has no answers as the outbreak spreads, she starts searching for an explanation herself, all while witnessing her body undergo terrifying, Cronenbergian transformations.
