Petras, a gifted but unsuccessful sculptor, is struggling to make ends meet by casual employment. Together with his childhood friend Povilas he travels to the country, not just to make some money, but also hoping for a career breakthrough. The beginning reminds an idyll – friends works in an old estate and talks about arts peacefully. Unfortunately their inner lives are more dramatic. An old friendship ends finally. Povilas takes a new breath in his art and Petras stays in the countryside, where his human talent is more significant.
