Anders (by Anders Mossling), a single father and a poet, gets fired from his job at a local newspaper after writing a negative review of his own book. While struggling to build a relationship with his estranged teenage son, he gets a job at the transhipment hub for car imports, where he must endure the suspicions of his co-workers and the regulations of the Swedish management. Mans Mansson’s highly cinematic adaptation of the prize- winning novel of the same name is entirely unsentimental in its depiction of desperate people faced with dubious moral choices.
