Dag is 19 years old. His father is the chief of the local volunteer fire brigade. Dag returns to his home village after a year of military service, and his parents quickly notice that something has changed. The young man went out with his father on calls when he was a child, but now his attitude towards the fire is different. Mysterious blazes spring up around the village. Pyromaniac is a study of the contradiction between the obsession and the human nature.
