Honey

1 hr. 43 min. | Drama | N/A

Yusuf lives with his parents in a remote mountain village. Yusuf's father, Jakup, is a beekeeper who collects honey in hives hung on top of trees. The boy often goes to copy honey with his father, so the forest becomes the home of his imagination. At the start of the school year, Yusuf experiences a lot of stress. It’s hard for him to read before class, other students laugh at his stuttering. When the father goes to look for honey in other neighborhoods, the boy closes himself even further. The days go by, but the father doesn’t come back anyway, and the boy’s mother looks more and more sad every day. Yusuf gathers all the courage and decides to travel to the forest to find his father. It is a journey into the unknown ...

"A child's curiosity, which encourages him to discover the world, partly shapes his personality. Misunderstandings, naive mistakes, dreams, joys, and pain help him understand the truth. I hope that Honey will help us understand the truth about Yusuf, ”says director Semih Kaplanoglu.
