The main character of the film is fourteen-year-old Juhanis. After spending six years in various foster homes and temporary families, the guy ends up in a boys' foster home on the Island. Everything here is led by fierce director Olavi Harjula. In addition to him and the boys, the only residents of the island are the director’s wife Irena and their two daughters. In an isolated world, completely different rules apply.
