This documentary reveals how the Chechen war psychologically affected children in Russia and Chechnya. The film is divided into three parts, or "rooms." In the first room - boys of 10-12 years of age at the Military Academy in Kronstadt (near St. Petersburg). In the second room - the ruined Chechen capital Grozny. A city where families are forced to struggle for survival, living in barely suitable homes. The city, with Russian tanks on its streets, is blocked by soldiers, and one brave woman tries to save orphaned children from violence. In the third room are the Islamic Republic of Ingushetia and abandoned orphans living in refugee camps. Among them: a boy found living in a cardboard box, a 19-year-old girl raped by Russian soldiers when she was 12, and a room full of children,
