This feature film is based on the real events of the war years. The place of action is the Vilnius ghetto (1942-1943) during the Nazi occupation. The film tells the story of a fatal and at the same time incredibly tragic story of flaming love and terrible hatred between a Nazi officer Kitel, a former actor and jazz musician, and Chaya, a Jewish singer with a star in the music world. Due to this fatal love, a theater is established in the Vilnius ghetto. The residents of the ghetto agree with the establishment of this theater with dissatisfaction and resistance. They feel humiliated by the blasphemous idea that a theater will exist here, where the Jews of Vilnius were massacred, that is, in the cemetery.
