In Memory of the Day Passed By

Šarūnas Bartas was born in 1964, in Šiauliai, Lithuania. He is not only one of the most prominent Lithuanian film directors internationally, but also a producer and an actor. He graduated from the S. Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in 1990. In 1989 established the first independent Film Studio in Lithuania Kinema. After documentaries Tofolaria (1985) and In Memory of the Day Passed by (1990) he presented his first feature film Three Days (1991). In 2001 he received Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize for his films Corridor (1995), Few of Us (1996), The House (1997) and Freedom (2000). In 2005 he created Seven Invisible Men (2005) and in 2010 presented Eastern Drift which was screened in festivals around the world.
