Mészáros’s most recent film returns to the central themes of her Diary trilogy: family, gender, the traumas of the past and the legacy of post-war Central Europe. Olga, a successful lawyer living in Vienna, learns that her mother has fallen into a coma and travels to Hungary to be with her. There, she uncovers the devastating events that befell her family during the Soviet occupation and sets out to bring its long-buried past to light.
