On his way to his grandmother’s 80th birthday, Stefan hits a dog with his car. At home, he reunites with relatives he hasn’t seen since the death of his mother, Neca. Together they begin repairing the lakeside cabin where Neca spent the final months of her life. Initially planning to make a documentary about his ailing mother, director Stefan Djordjević instead creates an autofiction about a grieving family striving to hold on to Neca’s memory as it drifts further away on the wind. Wind, Talk to Me stands out as one of the most accomplished debuts of the year.
