Interdisciplinary British artist Charlie Shackleton's film is a succession of fragments of feature films, selected on the sole criteria that none of the actors are no longer alive. The dead, briefly revived in the film, are likened to angels or ghosts, and the traces of their work suggest the impermanence of existence. The fragility of time also goes beyond the cinema screen: there is only one 35 mm print of this film, so each screening naturally contributes to the film's wear and tear and eventual deterioration. The film has now been screened nearly 60 times at film festivals and museums around the world.
