Sonny, an expert in computer programming, tries to save his newborn son, who has been diagnosed with an incurable neurological disease. Convinced that the diagnosis can be reversed, the father redesigns a powerful simulation programme and enters the uncharted territory of artificial intelligence, where no ethical rules apply. Desperate, Sonny is willing to do anything - even give up his freedom to a computer in exchange for his son's life.
