As kids, we were always told not to look into the sun. Yet we squinted and allowed the sun's rays to paint afterimages on our retinas. Rainer Kohlberger offers audiences an hour-long journey to his artificial on-screen sun. Answering the Sun is not so much a film, but an intense visual, acoustic and, ultimately, physical experience in the vein of the cinematic avant-garde of the 1970s. What will we see when staring at this artificial sun? Will everyone see something different? Or, rather, by being on the same frequency, will we synchronize our minds and generate the same images in our heads?
