„Maestà, the Passion of Christ“ is a film adaptation of „The Passion of Christ“, a 14th century polyptych of 26 panels painted by Sienese master Duccio di Buoninsegna. The whole cycle of the Passion of Christ is re-interpretated in split-screen by actors, in a setting that reproduces the primitive lack of perspective. One after the other, each panel hosts a part of the story, and the coherence of the painting blends in the movement, giving a new perspective on the painting.
