When I Was a Child

Algirdas Araminas (1931-1999) was a Lithuanian director and cinematographer. In 1958 he started to work as assistant cameraman at the Lithuanian Film Studios, later becoming cinematographer and director. He had worked as director in the National Television since 1983. He shot films The Chronicle of One Day (dir. V. Žalakevičius, 1963), June, the Beginning of Summer (dir. R. Vabalas, 1970). In 1968, Araminas made his directorial debut with Find Me. His most famous films are focused on young adults and world around them such as When I Was a Child (1968) and Small Confession (1972). Together with a poet Violeta Palčinskaitė he created three films for children: Andrius (1980), Train to Bulzibar (1986), Iron Princess (1988).
