A woman called Maarit is in her thirties and lives with her spiteful and manipulative father. Maarit devotes all her time and energy to taking care of her disabled father which has prevented her from leading a normal life of a young woman. She has not forged any serious relationships with the opposite sex and she has no children. However, the biological clock is ticking ruthlessly. One day Maarit meets a 9 years old boy called Rainer. The two develop a strange relationship.
