Film tells the story of a young woman who hires on as a crew member on a fishing vessel, where a tight knit group of men is already in place. Slowly it is revealed that the job she got was only vacant due to a tragic incident, and her being on board is not going down well with the crew. With conflict happening within the group, as well as with nature, this motley crew has to stick together and face their destiny in a sea voyage that takes an unexpected turn. „It is an important part of our culture. Nevertheless, for modern Icelanders, especially for town dwellers, fishing in the sea is rather exotic. There is certainly the memory of generations: our fathers, grandfathers, they all were fishermen. Even I, though not a professional fisherman, sailed on the seas and fished. But the conflict of generations is nowhere to hide”, says Árni Ólafur Ásgeirsson.
