Glance Wenders ' post-war Berlin sky is full of angels dressed in raincoats. They listen to people’s torturous thoughts and try to help them in some way. One angel named Damiel (Bruno Ganz) falls in love with the beautiful gymnast Marion (Solveig Dommartin) and wants to become a mortal man. Peter Falk, who plays himself in the film, helps the angel become human by explaining and showing simple human joys, such as the stunning combination of coffee and cigarettes.

"Heaven over Berlin" tells the story from the perspective of angels, black and white shots sometimes bloom in color, every time the immortals experience something human.

“It’s a film that tells the story of my connection to Germany and my childhood. The tape was created without any script, we had all sorts of notes and one big wall written down for ideas. The whole creative process was like writing a poem. All decisions were made instinctively. Basically, there is almost no narrative in the film, ”says Wenders.
