"Book Smugglers" is a film journey. The Irish poet and Lithuanian theater director repeats the 19th century. Lithuanian booksellers are on a road full of dangers. Bookmakers, risking their lives, saved the Lithuanian language by smuggling books, newspapers and magazines from Prussia to Lithuania in forbidden Latin characters and distributing them in underground schools. Traveling through forests and rivers, everyone learns something they didn’t know about their country and discovers more and more connections between their native language and identity.
