George lives with his mother in Oslo. On the occasion of his eighteenth birthday, he receives a letter from his father. He died when George was six. On the same day, George travels to the mountains, armed with skis and a telescope, to photograph a rare celestial phenomenon. For many years he tried to forget his father, so his letter causes him a boy with dual feelings. Still, he decides to take a letter on the trip. On the train on the way to the mountains, he meets his peer Stela. In the letter, Father Georg asks an important existential question: what is the purpose of living if we still die, no matter how we live? Would you be born if you had a choice? But before demanding an answer to that question, the father tells him the story of how he met the orange girl back in 1982.
