Small Town Men

The guy finds out that his best friend had sex with his mother. To serve his sentence, the son decides to cut off the "culprit" of this sin for a friend. The action of the film takes place in a small Estonian town and shows what two young men do when there is nothing to do - with no job opportunities, no education, no desire to improve.

"The idea to create a socially critical black comedy came from visiting the towns of the Estonian province and seeing the young unemployed. They seem trapped in a surreal space, as if in an existential vacuum. The lack of future prospects further increases the reluctance to improve. The tragedy of the characters in the film becomes comical and absurd. The sincerity and naivety of the actors and directors are the distinctive features of the film, ”says director Liina Paakspuu.
