Renowned Danish director Lars von Trier dives with compatriot documentary film veteran Jorgen Leth in the world of documentary film, in which he plays according to his own rules. In 1967, Let filmed a 13-minute documentary on human behavior, The Perfect Man. 33 years later, Treira challenged Leth by proposing to make 5 remakes of the film. To keep it not that simple, Trier comes up with a few hurdles that force the director of the real film to rethink the story and the main characters. Playing a naive anthropologist, Leth accepts clever challenges thrown at the twisted and vile Trier, but must conform to prohibitions, restrictions, and commandments. This is a game full of traps and dead ends. The film is an exploratory journey into the phenomenal waters of filmmaking.
