This is a film about Jan Balsrud, a member of the Norwegian resistance movement during World War II. In 1943, he took part in an operation aimed at destroying the German air control tower. This mission collapsed when a platoon was betrayed to the Nazis by civilians randomly met. Balsrud was the only one who survived an unexpected German attack and barely escaped with a disability. Among other things, he shot one of the enemies while running. This was just the beginning of his long journey through snowy Norway towards neutral Swedish territory.
