Soviet Latvia, mid-1970s. Dad, mom and son are on vacation at the lake. Playing with his son, the father throws the ball into the water. He runs after him and starts drowning. He is rescued by a former fisherman nearby. Unexpectedly, matches become a catalyst for interpersonal relationships.
