But Russian culture has also reached this seemingly God-forgotten corner of the earth. Today, the nation is increasingly drowning in the mire of alcoholism, unemployment is booming. But a new generation has arrived, determined to preserve the remnants of the rest of the culture. The world of Chukchi is revealed in the film through a portrait of a woman who wants to learn the local language, ethnographic films of the early 20th century and - which is a rarely seen initiative - retelling Chukchi mythology in animated clips. Viewers of "Scanorama" had the opportunity to see the films of these directors "The Bride of the Seventh Heaven" and "Seven Songs from the Tundra". "Fata morgana" is their latest creation.
