Head above the Water

The newlyweds Einar and Lene live on the island of Sorland. One evening, Einar goes out fishing with Lene’s friend Bjorn, the only resident of the island. Only when the husband leaves, Lenė receives an unexpected visit from the former lover's psychologist Gautė. The wife has just left, and he longs for Lena’s sympathy. Lena rejects him but lets him spend the night. In the morning, before the men return from fishing, the woman finds Gautė in bed naked and dead. Fearing that the jealous man would not understand the explanations, she dragged her body into the basement. In this black comedy, the corpse becomes a witness to the madness of the islanders.
