Grimur’s childhood ends with the natural catastrophe that kills his family. Although Grimur had had a premonition of this, he had been unable to prevent it. More than thirty years later, Grimur is still tormented by guilt. Flashbacks disrupt his life, his painting and the relationship with his girlfriend, who wants a child.
