From 16 to 22 July Cinema Nights will take place at the Curonian Spit History Museum (Pamario st. 53 in Nida) as the part of 27th International Thomas Mann Festival.
Film programme follows this year’s festival’s theme “Cultural Landscapes. The Stranger” and includes films from recent Scanorama:
Godland (2022), dir. Hlynur Pálmason’s (nomination for Cannes Un Certain Regard award 2022)
EO (2022), dir. Jerzy Skolimowski (Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize 2022)
Burial (2022), dir. Emilija Skarnulyte
Transit (2018), dir. Christian Petzold (nominated for Golden Berlin Bear 2018)
The film programme is curated by Scanorama’s programme coordinator Dmitrij Gluščevskij.

Nida beach was included in CNN’s “Dare to bare: 20 of the world’s best nude beaches” list earlier this season. “With its wildflower-covered dunes (among the highest in Europe) and shoreline forest, the beach was the focus of a 19th-century artists’ colony that attracted many of the leading painters, poets and writers of the time. Walk far enough south along the strand and you eventually come to a fence that marks the Lithuania-Russia border.”
