In summer, the resorts along the Adriatic coast are packed with tourists. Rio works in a local hotel kitchen, supplementing his meagre wages by stealing from foreign holidaymakers. When Andrea discovers his thefts, they agree to join forces and split the spoils. What begins as a pragmatic arrangement develops into an unexpected intimacy. With quiet sensitivity, this summery debut explores dreams of a better future and the invisible workers on whose shoulders the tourism industry rests. Winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Croatian filmmaker Mate Ugrin’s feature has been hailed as one of the year’s standout films from the Balkans.
