But who, in such circumstances, has the right to make decisions on a woman’s behalf? And who should be entrusted with the care of someone with dementia - their child, their partner or an institution? The involvement of social services ignites a moral conflict between Amanda, played with quiet intensity by Juliette Binoche, and Martin, as the line between care and control becomes increasingly difficult to draw.
