Gerrie, 65, returns to Rotterdam every year for a few days to have his health checked. His eccentric son Dick, who is longing for his father, is there to greet him, but Gerrie is reluctant to spend time with him. According to an old saying, three days are enough for an idyllic stay to turn as stinky as an old fish. As if sensing this, the two men, who do not know how to interact, look for tenderness in each other without words, but avoid any confrontation at all costs. A tragicomic portrait of the complex relationship between a son and his father, based on the director's family history. The film won the award for Best Actor at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
