When Erin opens his eyes, it is still snowing. Waking up too early from hibernation, he does not survive. As spring arrives, Clara searches in vain for her brother while reflecting on the hibernation and awakening that dictate the rhythm of life in her community. Winner of the prestigious Fipresci Prize at the Berlin Film Festival, the Spanish artist's debut is a meditative science fiction about a hypothetical ecosystem in which sleep becomes a strong bond between the human, animal and vegetal realms. Using the senses as the basic principles of existence, the director asks whether a different human nature, a reciprocal and truly equal relationship with the environment, is possible.
