Eleven-year-old Keria lives on the island of Borneo in a vast rainforest. She shelters an orangutan abandoned on an oil palm plantation. Her cousin, Selai, also appears on her doorstep, having escaped from a conflict between a nomadic tribe and loggers. The forest is in serious danger and Keria, together with Selai and the young chimp, sets out to protect it. The resistance will be an unexpected opportunity for Keria to learn more about her tribe.
