Empire

1 hr. 50 min. | Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Comedy | Pegi 13

Opal Coast, Northern France. In a quiet fishing town, extraordinary things start happening: the birth of a special baby triggers a war between good and evil empires from other planets. Lightsaber fights, explosions and a forbidden love story begin in a banal coastal landscape. Winner of the Silver Bear, the Grand Jury Prize in Berlin, Bruno Dumont reinterprets the science fiction genre and creates a European version of Star Wars, offering not only a satirical vision of the cosmic apocalypse, but also a perceptive commentary on the contemporary human condition.
