The world of a 16-year-old small-town girl Evelina collapses when she finds out her mother is having an affair with a woman. Like all teens, Evelina thinks liberally, and wants her own freedom of thought and action. However, that thinking does not really extend to her own parents. Trying to stop her mother’s affair at all costs and get her parents to fall in love again, she comes up with a lie that brings about both dramatic and comedic consequences.
