Creative Europe Funding: What to Expect for the Audiovisual Sector in 2024?

Creative Europe 2021-2027 is the European Union‘s flagship program supporting the cultural and creative sectors and the audiovisual industry through the MEDIA sub-program. Austėja Milvydaitė, Head of MEDIA O ice at Creative Europe Desk Lithuania, will present the priorities of the MEDIA sub-program for the coming years, the open calls for proposals, the general requirements for participation in the program, the evaluation criteria, and will answer questions about the Creative Europe funding.

MEDIA funding supports the development of more than 400 audiovisual works in Europe each year, including films, TV series, video games and VR projects. More than 2,500 audiovisual professionals participate in training programs to improve their skills, the distribution of more than 300 European films is funded, and more than 1,100 cinemas exhibiting European content are systematically supported in 34 countries. The supported lm festivals alone reach 3.5 million admissions each year, while all the initiatives supported by the program touch 65 million people across borders.
