Myths on Obtaining Rights and Using of Brands in Film Production
The main idea behind “Film + Law” seminars series is to help the industry fill in the gap of lacking legal knowledge in the television and film industry, which is spotted to be especially relevant for young and newly joined industry talents. The event is oriented towards professionals in the audiovisual sector, students or graduates, and others interested in the legal practice in television and film industry. The legal competence is strengthened by overviewing the real case studies from the contracts, relevant to the autheurs. This seminar will be conducted by an attorney Rokas Janauskas, which gathered more than 15 years of experience as a lawyer and attorney, and has a credit of helping Lithuanian film producers and directors in preparing the contracts, applying for funding as well as protecting intellectual property rights to intellectual and artistic works.
Rokas Janauskas is in legal practice since 2007. Headed the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences sector group at a leading Baltic law firm “Sorainen”, afterward worked as the Managing Associate at “CEE Attorneys Lithuania”. Previously worked as a corporate counsel for one of the world’s leading scientific technologies company “Thermo Fisher Scientific”, and for Lithuania’s leading biotechnology company “Fermentas”. Currently works at his founded Rokas Janauskas law firm. Consults in corporate law, intellectual property, advertising, public procurement law. Works with start-ups, creative industries, including film and television producers and autheurs, helping them in preparing the contracts, applying for funding, tax incentives or protecting intellectual property rights.
