An intellectual and atheist Lope Garido sees his chance when the beautiful young Tristana is orphaned. He takes her into his household and into his bedroom. While ravishing her, he excuses himself by rationalizing that she would fare worse on the streets. Later Tristana meets a joung artist, falls in love with him and chages completely – now she is a cruel and autocratic woman. Later then she gets sick Tristana decides to come back to Lope. It is her time to take a power and revenge. The film continues one of the main subject by the director and is an explicit study of a human relationship in which the power changes hands.
